It’s been exactly one week since I released “Price To Be Paid,” and I’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support y’all have shown. From the streams and shares to the messages and comments — THANK YOU!
With America turning 250 this year, I felt a strong pull to write something that honors the men and women who have carried the weight of our freedom. It’s written from the soldier’s perspective — the grit, the fear, the fight, and the quiet courage it takes to stand in the breach when freedom calls.
“Price To Be Paid” is my way of saying thank you to every veteran, active duty service member, and Gold Star family. Freedom isn’t free. There’s a real price that’s been paid — continues to be paid — so the rest of us can live in peace, raise our families, sing our songs, and worship without fear.
One of the lines that hits me every time I hear it is:
“Fight through the darkness, fight through the pain… Freedom has a price to be paid.”
That truth runs through the whole song.
